Hello everyone,
Welcome to my very first blog…
One of my favorite subjects [the Power of Juicing] is the ability to render fresh vegetables and fruits into a healthy great tasting drink. Today, I juiced a simple combination, apple, yellow bell pepper, parsley, and ginger, awesome!
Apples – packed with vitamin A, and potassium. Right below the skin of an apple, there’s an enzyme called pectin, which is great for the digestive system.
Yellow & Orange bell pepper – has 350 mg of vitamin C, where a medium navel orange has only about 80 mg of vitamin C.
Parsley – Also packed with vitamin C & A, plus folate (folic) acid, here this…
Fights cancer. Parsley contains volatile oils that have been found to inhibit tumor formation in animal studies, particularly those in the lungs. The oils are not only cancer-fighting, they're also known to neutralize carcinogens including those found in cigarette smoke and charcoal grill smoke. Parsley also contains folic acid, which has been found to help prevent colon and cervical cancers (sixwise.com, n.d.).
Ginger - Scientific name: Zingiber officinale. I love this spicy root because it gives me energy. It’s full of properties such as phyto-chemicals that are known to fight many diseases.

Hi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteI think that juice is very healthy for the body. If you see my blog, I drink juices from Monavei. Monavie juices help with the body's joint health, healthy cholesterol, antioxidants, and promotes and maintains an overall sense of good health. Have you heard of Monavie?

Kevin,
ReplyDeleteI actually watched a movie that focused on this, it made very compelling points. I thought about trying it but I have too much going on right now with all of my training and focusing on my current diet. I am vegan by the way and love fruits and vegetables, with the exception of salads (the irony). When I am ready I will contact you for some good ideas!

Kevin,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip about parsley. My father was diagnosed with colon cancer last May and since then have changed our eating habits and omitted red meat from our diet. We consume 80% fruits and vegetables and 20% fish and turkey.
I have not tried juicing, but will try your juicing recipe and let you know if gets thumbs up from the family.
I did read today about adding slices of apples to water with cinnamon sticks to increase metabolic rate. Have you heard about this?
